Rick maybe you can send it to me also as she dont answer the phone or pm's on there website.

Or maybe it would just be quicker to contact IAM's direct and sort it out that way.

I am a member of the Harrogate branch and we are always looking for people.
I expect the loacl places like preston or wigan etc are bound to have branches
Its over 130 quid these days, price went up a year or two ago. You also donate a fiver to the observer each ride towards their fuel, cos they volunteer
Let's ride.

I can highly recommend the folks at SLAM.  I'm an IAM qualified Senior Observer myself, but for a different group.  However, SLAM are probably the best organised group I've ever come across and they have a great social side too.

When I first went to the IAM, I'd been riding for 15 years and thought that, with all that experience, there was nothing they could teach me.  Oh how wrong I was.

It takes between four and ten weeks to get up to test standard (six is about right) and at the end of week two, I felt quite hopeless and thought I would never be able to do it, and then suddenly a couple of weeks later, everything made sense and off I went.  The day after I passed my test, I was speeding round the TT circuit with a cheesy grin on my face (not during TT week, I hasten to add!).

The IAM made me a much better rider, gave me lots of confidence and reduced my insurance by over 50%.  I also made a lot of good friends there.

Hi Carl

I refer to your email below.

Please can you explain what you mean by holding a RideSafe BackSafe day. Where would this be and who and what would it involve?

Many thanks

I know that feeling very well. And i will give it till the end of the week then i am going to look elsewhere for this course.
Sorry Rick m8 but after 6 phone calls, 3 pm's and now 2 emails with no response since mid December, Including a post on the ridesafe forum. I can understand why March is in doubt for a lack of interest, I am just not sure where the lack of interest is atm i am afraid.
So as stated i will give the lady till the end of the week, then i will book the course at a local IAM group.

I've only tried phoning Shelby the once and got straight through. Top girl. She did say that she's been off for a while. Those of you that are having trouble, I'm guessing she has a video phone and is probably too scared to answer?
